Writing Your Artist Statement

with Matt Allyn Chapman

October 22, 7pm to 9pm

$40

In this two hour session, participants can look forward to honing their creative sensibilities through building or refining their Artist Statement. An important piece of writing, the Artist Statement is meant to serve as your representative when you are not present. It can be poetic, to the point, abstract, or factual- it's about finding your unique perspective on how you engage with the world through your art. This workshop will provide time to ask questions, ideate and write, share and receive feedback, and connect with your fellow participants.

Matt Allyn Chapman is an artist, co-owner of curio. Gallery & Creative supply in downtown Lancaster with his wife Nicole Duquette, & long time professor at Pennsylvania College for Art & Design. In addition to these roles, he is a member of the Echo Valley Art Group and board member of the Demuth Foundation & Lancaster Museum of Art. He holds a BFA in Illustration from PCA&D, and his MFA from PAFA.
